Can I be a full-time writer now please?

One of the things I came on this trip for was to learn whether I would like the life of a full-time writer.

Turns out the answer is yes.

Although, by ‘full-time writer’ I mean five or six hours a day being productive with my computer or notebook, and the rest spending time with friends and family, doing chores, running errands, cultural consumption, and so on.

I like being able to set my own schedule. I always have ideas for stories I’m desperate to work out so there’s never a danger I won’t do any work if no one’s making me. I eat well and exercise.

In short, this sabbatical trip has been a raging success.

Next step: figure out how I can support myself with creative writing.
